Keep trying! The first clue described a different Teresa Wright movie. I've fried my brain trying to come up with the answer.

Clue 1:

This "duel" ended in a madame winning and the "loser" getting knocked out and up!

The duel is "Duel in the Sun" which WAS Teresa's movie...her husband wrote it for her but the "madame", Jennifer Jones (Madame Bovery) got the part. Jennifer "knocked" her out of the part because her husband "knocked" her up and would not let her do the role because it was too strenuous.

I knew the 2nd clue was a dead giveaway!!!

Good job inglis, your turn!

Ok, inglis...I know the film title but you are going to have to help me with the actress...I cannot begin to remember who it was but I love the movie and remember this much.

"On the Town" and the crooner was Frank Sinatra...

somebody else is going to have to help with actress?!

Okey Dokey,

I've never tried this before (so I hope this is not too easy), but here goes:

I'm the eternal barker. I've promoted my wide range of wares to many people, including Gary Cooper and Jack Benny.
