Gillian Anderson is making some really great films in the UK and Ireland.She has made a smart decision in leaving Hollywood for more serious roles, and you will be seeing much more of her work in the future. Here is a list of some of her films completed and in production:

 

The Last King of Scotland (2006) Genre: Drama / History - Country: UK - Directed by Kevin Macdonald.

Plot Outline: Based on the events of the brutal Ugandan dictator Idi Amin's regime as seen by his personal physician during the 1970s.

 

Straightheads (2006) Genre: Thriller - Country: UK - Directed by Dan Reed.

Plot Outline: Blackmail threatens to expose the secrets of neighbours living in a seaside town.

 

No One Gets Off in This Town (2006) Genre: Comedy - Directed by

Richard Kwietniowski.

 

A **** and Bull Story (2005) Genre: Comedy Country: UK - Directed by

Michael Winterbottom.

Plot Outline: Director Michael Winterbottom (Northam) attempts to shoot the adaptation of Laurence Sterne's essentially unfilmable novel, "The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman."

 

The Mighty Celt (2005) Genre: Drama - Country: Ireland - Directed by Pearse Elliott.

Plot Summary: Donal (McKenna) is a 14-year old who develops a passion for greyhound racing. He works in a kennel, which is owned by Good Joe (Stott)

Plot Outline: A suspenseful tale about the injustices of the 19th-century English legal system.
