Who would you rather meet?

Recommended Posts

I really liked Glenda in "Susan Slept Here" because she played her scenes very well with Dick Powell.

But Joan Blondell did the real thing--  Dick Powell was her husband and they had a daughter together.

So, Joan could tell me about all those great Warner Brothers musicals and about Dick Powell too.

Paulette Goddard's main talent was meeting Charlie Chaplin.....

I really loved Maureen O'Sullivan in "The Thin Man", the first movie of that great Classic series. And a lot of decades later I loved her in  Woody Allen's "Hannah and Her Sisters".

Dabbs Greer or Dub Taylor?

I'm not too familiar with those two names, but if I were to pick, I'd say Dub Taylor, because I thought he was funny as the xylophonist in" YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU".

By the way, Princess of Tap, I strongly agree with what you said about Maureen O’Sullivan, as an actress.  I also like her in "A DAY AT THE RACES" with the Marx Brothers, and especially as Jane in the Tarzan pictures with Johnny Weismuller.  I also really like Paulette Goddard in any movie she's in.  That's why I suggested those two to choose between.  They both seem so friendly and sweet.

I like them both. Tony has a nice voice, he's funny, and any man who would dress up in drag for a movie (same with Lemmon) is a real man in my book. Jack is very funny but he was so good in The Days of Wine and Roses (The scene when he's in the strait jacket, screaming--he was screaming and freaking out for real, they had to stop the scene to calm him down). During the filming of The Defiant Ones, it original is was starring Sidney Poitier and Robert Mitchum. When they wanted to give Sidney equal top billing with Mitchum, the latter quit. Enter Tony Curtis, who had no problem sharing top billing with the young Sidney Poitier. Tony is really down to earth and self-effacing. One more thing, Tony NEVER said that kissing Marilyn Monroe was like kissing Hitler. Tony is funnier, at least to me. So I prefer Tony Curtis.

Ingrid Bergman....or Ann-Margaret...?

Oohhh... That's a VERY tough one. Hmm.. Realistically I would like to meet them both, but I'll give the edge to Charlton Heston. He was very dreamy.

I like Jeanne Crain and she is in several films I rank very highly, but Natalie Wood wins this. I so wish I could have met her. 💜

Next: Maureen O'Hara or Maureen O'Sullivan?

I find Maureen O'Hara to be very pretty, but I just always had a great fondness for Maureen O'Sullivan, especially in the Tarzan films.  Just like Paulette Goddard (whose picture you can see above with O'Sullivan's), I think they're both very sweet and saucy-sounding actresses.

Hmm.. I don't know much about either, but I have seen The Conspirators (1944) before. Plus I would love learning about Austrian History and Culture, so I'll say Hedy Lamarr.

Would you rather meet, and sing and dance with Gordon MacRae or Howard Keel?

I've seen more movies with Howard Keel, so I would pick him.  I especially like the movies he did with Kathryn Grayson.

Certainly no contest here--

Coop-- He was just about as good as they come-- on and off screen.

And what a beautiful family he had.

Two more Great Western stars that I really like. But who would you pick?
