It's a shame Billy 'Froggy' Laughlin died so young. He was on a scooter when hit by a truck. Apparently his voice sounded that way because of a faulty tonsilectomy. Rough life. Billy Jack wasn't his brother, but Mickey Laughlin was.

Gerb, ironically 'Froggy' did have an older brother Tom Laughlin, but it wasn't 'Billy Jack'.

The 'Froggy' family came from California while 'Billy Jack' was born in Minnesota.

 

Sadly, after "Our Gang" was over, 'Froggy' was riding double with a friend delivering newspapers on a old three-lane highway in La Puente when a truck hit him from behind and killed him. He was only 16.

Dependable African-American actor, scored big as Priest in the movie "Superfly". Also in "A Force of One", "When a Stranger Calls" the chilling original, "St. Helens", "Red Dawn", "Trained to Kill", "Gangsters", "On the Edge", etc.

Was married at the time of his death. On the TV series "The Equalizer", and has done theatre work (won awards). Had a superb singing voice and loved to sing opera.

Wonderful, gruff and tough character actress, Oscar nominated best support for "Throw Momma from the Train" (also a Golden Globe nominee).
