Hedy Lamarr: The Most Beautiful Star!

Recommended Posts

Tired of waiting for those infrequent Hedy showings on TCM? The Internet Archive has Dishonored Lady (1947) available to stream or download. Apparently, it's in the public domain. Here's the link to visit the download page: http://www.archive.org/details/dishonored_lady. And here's the link to stream it directly: http://www.archive.org/stream/dishonored_lady/dishonored_lady_256kb.mp4.

Hi you guys! Nobody is in the dog house! I just got mad last night (too much wine had made me sentimental), so I erased my preaching over in High Definition, turned off my computer and went to bed. I have to get up at 5! Plus, I have no tolerance to any dissension on the topic of Garbo. That is one reason why I don't discuss her. There is no negative involved! I hesitated even commenting on her losing the oscar, but the wine . . . ! I knew I would get everyone's "opinion." So, from now on, I will stick to Hedy and avoid my idol. After all, I am a MANIAC when it comes to Garbo.

I am on a break now, so I turned on the computer and saw those posters! Wow! That is my MOSTEST FAVORITEST film of Hedy's of all time! Thanks filmlover!

She is the most beautiful in this film (her second) and gives, IMHO, a dynamite performance. Can't wait to see it again! Hope everyone watches this one above all the others. Joseph Schildkraut is the villain, and he is despicable!

Talk atchall later!

> Worthy of Note:

> Marlene Dietrich was the first choice to play

> Mademoiselle Allaine. But, she refused in a huff,

> stating, "I'll share glamour with no one!" Too bad,

> although Trevor was wonderful, historically, this

> would have been a "treasure" with Lamarr and Dietrich

> in the same film.

Really? That would have been an interesting combo.

Though you won't be able to see her (boo, hiss), you can hear our revered Hedy on the Edgar Bergen Show. Here's a link to the various Edgar Bergen radio shows at the Internet Archive: http://www.archive.org/details/EdgarBergenCharlieMcCarthyDickPowell. And here's a direct link to stream (or download) the show titled Hedy Loves Mortimer: http://www.archive.org/download/EdgarBergenCharlieMcCarthyDickPowell/EBCM_54xxxx_Hedy_Loves_Mortimer.mp3.
