YouthQuaker
After much searching, I figured out the name of the black and white foreign film. It is "Le petit soldat" (The Little Soldier) starring Anna Karina. It is a Godard film, and I am very very happy to now know it's title. Thankyou to those who helped me! CineSage_jr
Maybe you should have announced this from the deck of an aircraft carrier.

JackBurley
"I hope you were just being funny." He was. It was just a reference to George Bush who [prematurely] went on board an aircraft carrier for his press conference with the huge sign that read "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED". YouthQuaker
Well I can assure you that I am nothing like Georgie Porgie. One of my least favorite people of all time.
CineSage_jr
People! I ain't people! I am..."a glittering, glowing star in the cinema ferma-ment. It says so right here. -- Lina Lamont (who shares a similar IQ with George W. Bush) in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (screenplay by Betty Comden and Adolph Green)
ayresorchids
"Firmament," actually. (Though I suppose Lina may have gotten it wrong.)
coolrob1955
I'm afraid I must object to all these negative references to our Commander-In-Cheif's IQ level. I know for a fact that he can count to ten. And to twenty if he takes his shoes and socks off. And to twenty-one if he takes his pants off. regards

CineSage_jr
Did CineSage jr misspell a word? Must be a typo. No, I didn't. In Jean Hagen's deliriously Oscar-nominated performance in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, Lina Lamont's mispronununciation of "firmament" places, in effect, the hyphen in the middle of the word, and that's what I was trying to convey (though, in the name of accuracy, "fir-ma-MENT" is actually closer to what she says). Gerb
mispronununciation I didn't catch this when it went through the first time. It must be a new word.
