Yeah, that would have to be a requisite, indeed.

 

But with 'guest programmers' programming, they are films I've already seen oftentimes, and I'm more curious about the intro's and outro's and the personalities commentary.

Come to think of it, you are right about Cosby. Yes, he was one of the firsts, wasn't he?

 

And, I think Turturro and Buscemi did a kind of 'gp' stint once, too, as two of four intros to some films.

 

In hindsight, I think it was a sort of pre-gp trial run . . . with appalingly garish, AMC-esque set decoration and production style.

 

I'm glad the TCM overseers saw the error of the style, and refined it to the present-day 'gp' style which is aesthetically sound and civilised.

 

I could go for Turturro and Buscemi on again, but in the 'gp' format, now.
