southerngirl
Good one! Have you heard the story about Ward and John Wayne? Apparently, they had an ongoing battle in which they punched the **** out of one another. On one such occasion, they were standing in a doorway...Bond closed the door and said something to the effect of, "Ha, ha! Can't hit me now!" Needless to say, the Duke slammed his fist through the door and knocked Bond down (maybe out?).

SamTherapy
Ward Bond is in every friggin movie! . . . somewhere. My name is Bond . . . Ward Bond. Actually, has a nice ring to it; and I bet Ward could go a pretty good distance with James! Particularly, in Gentlemen Jim . . . he has a definite "Bond Super-Villian" quality about him (a la 'Jaws')
bollywood101
> Will TCM ever show the old bond films? Probably not. At one time TBS had the US license for these and used to run Bond marathon weekends, alternating with Clint Eastwood marathon weekends, but that expired a few years back and I think the Spike Channel picked it up. Don't know if it's still active there. The Bond films have never been part of the United Artists package that TCM licenses; I'm not even sure whether they're controlled by UA or by the production company, now that I think of it. TCM ran a program of 60s spy movies, five or six years ago, in which the Bond films were very conspicuous by their absence. I was hoping they'd at least come up with Operation Kid Brother, starring Neil Connery, but no such luck.
