tejas55
It's great news that TCM has acquired 8 episodes, but I wish TCM or someone else would air the rest of Cavett's shows on a regular basis. I really miss those talk shows that had living legends as guests on a regular basis. Just releasing a few select shows with rock stars on DVD just doesn't cut it. markfp2
I always like Dick Cavett too, and I agree that the eight shows featuring movie legends will be great to see. However, TCM is, first and foremost , a movie channel with some other movie related programming tossed in and I don't think it would be the right place for a general talk show. Search these forums and see how much flack TCM is taking when they try and do something a little different including Cavett.

nsallieharding
I will be watching and recording all of the Dick Cavett Shows because there was no one like him. He could bring out the best of everyone, John Lennon to Groucho Marks. TCM is seeking a more diverse audience not a younger one and they will accomplish that with all of their new programming that will appear during the next three months. Gonzo
I too would have loved to have seen '**** Blues' on TCM (I have a 15th generation bootleg) but due to legal reasons it can only be screened 'live' a maximum of once a year and filmmaker Robert Frank must be in attendance. This was Mick and Keith's way of making sure that the film received as little public airing as possible. Perhaps the terms of the legal contract will change once all the parties are deceased. JackBurley
They showed **** Blues at San Francisco's Castro Theatre a few years ago. Once the thrill of actually seeing it diminished, I'm afraid I found it a tedious excercise. I believe the court order decreed that this film could be shown 5 (five) times each year in the presence of Mr. Frank. I have enjoyed exhibitions of his photographic work, so was a bit disappointed in the movie. Perhaps my lack of history with the Rolling Stones precluded my enjoyment; or maybe I'm just a plebian. I did notice a lot of people taking pictures of the marquee with that provocative title.
Gonzo
I agree, it is really tedious. However, the scene where an extremely stoned Keith tries to order room service from his hotel room is worth the price of admission alone.
