I believe I will watch the 1925 film when next it is shown by TCM.. at a reasonable hour.

I was looking at the wiki page and the crowd extras during the chariot race are somewhat

impressive. Recommendation enough.

Paramount and M-G-M?  I thought both were long gone as picture makers, especially M-G-M.  Please enlighten.

M-G-M was in a very convoluted legal entanglement for some time, which has been resolved, apparently.

Paramount never went anywhere. They released 14 films last year.

there was this in Wiki article.....

"MGM had just emerged from bankruptcy due to the global success of the twenty-third James Bond film, Skyfall and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey which both went to gross over $1 billion at the box office worldwide including above $300 million in the United States and Canada and Paramount was having their share of success at that time with the biblical tale, Noah.[25][26]"

Great news!  I discovered too late how close I was to Paramount from my hotel at the Festival.  I would have given almost anything just to be able to see that entrance or get my pic taken there.  That these two great studios are still putting out films after all this time is a testament that the industry is alive and well.

The actors in the new film look closer in age to the characters in the book than Heston and Boyd did.  Heston was 40 and looked it where Judah was supposedly the same age as Christ who was about 33 when Good Friday occurred.  I will see how the movie is received before deciding to see it or not.

just heard THIS line in a new trailer....

(during chariot race...."Are we having FUN yet, brother?")

Do you have to be born after 1985 to appreciate this level of screenwriting?

..and.. shouldn't he have said "bro" or "my friend" instead?

..and why isn't he wearing one of these..?

I can't judge a films I've never seen . Might actually be good. One thing about CGI, you don't have to trips horses with wires anymore. So there is that

... trilogy Ben Hurls (2018)

You just know if its a hit , there will be five more. Will those have chariots flying through skyscrapers ? Explosions ? Hero's brother out for revenge... ? Like most Hollywood sequels these days ??  :P

From what I've read, I don't think that's going happen.

I was just reading an article and the author felt this thing is probably going to flop at the box office.
