Bernie doesn't control the actions of his supporters.    This was the case in 2016 and it will be even more so in 2020.

The Economist article and polling data made this clear;   Younger Bernie supporters are NOT "lesser evil" type voters.    They need to LOVE who they plan to vote for.   They need to believe the candidate is genuine (this really hurt Hillary).    Hating the other-guy or supporting-your-party-period isn't enough to motive them to vote on election day (and since Bernie isn't a Dem,, the latter has little juice).

Warren might be able to get them to love her,,,, Biden,,,,  no way.

You know when one is not popular when the birds don't turn out in numbers.

They both support (well supported in the case of Fidel), the same health-care system?

Two interesting columns re: Warren and Sanders and Medicare For All.  First is by Catherine Rampell and basically states that Warren tried to use Sanders plan as a basis for hers - and failed.  Her plan requires very generous assumptions, which are faulty.  Rampell does believe that Warren's plan could arrive at universal coverage, BUT without a single payer (government) system.  But it would also have income based requirements, cost sharing and minimum benefits.

https://www.winonadailynews.com/catherine-rampell-elizabeth-warren-tried-to-do-bernie-sanders-homework/article_cbd875d9-643c-502e-b2e1-8011d8485c59.html

Michael Gerson believes that Warren's MFA plan would help reelect Trump.  Warren is six points behind Trump in Michigan, even with him in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and four points behind in Florida.  Trump and the GOPers will exploit the weak points in her MFA plan and in these swing states will most likely tilt the election to Trump.

She proposes a massive increase in government involvement in people's lives at a time when people trust government less.  She will replace ACA (Obamacare) just as it is beginning to show signs that it could work with improvents.  Her estimates on both costs and revenues for MFA and potential budget cuts are overly optimistic.

The 2018 (and now 2019) elections have shown that Trump and the GOPers are losing some voters, but these same voters will not be attracted to the Dem party in 2020 if Warren (or whoever) proposes socialism, disruption and radicalism to American health care system.

Poll: Trump edges Biden,

trails Sanders in neck and neck match-ups

Trump edges out Biden 51-49 among registered voters in the poll

while trailing Sanders 50-49, both margins that fall within the survey's margin of error.

Trump and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) are also deadlocked at 50-50.

Another highly questionable national poll.  The US does not have a national election, we have 50+ state elections.  Also, appears they polled 713 people on landlines and an online panel of 379 provided by Amazon Turk (whatever that is).  What about the millions who only use cell phones?

With caller ID, there is a great chance that significant numbers of voters do not even answer the call.

Bottom line:  it doesn't mean squat.

"The sample consisted of registered voters, n=1,092, with a Credibility Interval (CI) similar to a poll’s margin of error (MOE) of +/- 2.9 percentage points. The data was weighted based on 2016 voter model of age, mode, party registration, ethnicity, and region. It is important to remember that subsets based on gender, age, party breakdown, ethnicity and region carry with them higher margins of error, as the sample size is reduced. Data was collected using both an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system of landlines only (n=713) and an online panel provided by Amazon Turk (n=379)."

The internet as we know it was developed by taxpayer-funded research,
using taxpayer-funded grants in taxpayer-funded labs.

Our tax dollars built the internet.

It should be a public good for all, not another price-gouging profit machine for Comcast, AT&T and Verizon.

And Bernie wants to hand a few TRILLION dollars to Medicare For All, Free College for All, Repudiation of all college loans, ad infinitum.  Mind you the Dems in the House that are about to impeach Trump voted overwhelmingly for the Defense Budget.

I agree we spend way too much on the military, but this tweet from Sanders further proves how out of touch with American people he really is.

The “Bernie Blackout” Is in Effect — and It Could Help Sanders Win

Sen. Bernie Sanders faced a media blackout that helped sink his 2016 run for president. Ahead of 2020, the trend continues: Sanders gets less media coverage and a higher rate of negative coverage than his top rivals for the Democratic nomination. But this time, says The Intercept’s D.C. Bureau Chief Ryan Grim, the blackout could actually help Bernie win.

How?

Incidentally, he was a "loser" at the Dem debate last night.  Per CNN reviewer.
