That hasn’t changed. But I reject the idea that we can’t push politicians to earn our vote & adopt progressive policies that the majority of our party supports. If we keep giving our power away to politicians then nothing will change. Do the majority of people who consider themselves Democrats really support progressive/socialist policies? I know other Democrats and none support the progressive/socialist agenda. Regardless, the elections are not about advancing the progressive/socialist agenda, but about replacing Trump and as many Republicans as possible at all levels of government. Here Sanders is right; No private company \ industry should get a taxpayer funded bailout unless as part of the package management salaries are capped at 200K for a 2 year period as well as other measures that ensure the bailout doesn't benefit the top 5% of employees or stock holders.

Bogie56
Campaign signals Sanders may be open to exit The presidential candidate’s team indicated that he might consider stepping aside, and conversations were underway with Joe Biden’s camp. Sean Sullivan, Michelle Ye Hee Lee and Jenna Johnson Bernie Sanders signaled Wednesday that he was open to ending his presidential run after another round of landslide losses to Joe Biden, and new signs emerged of communication between the two camps as some Democrats hoped for a swift end to a bruising primary. Sanders campaign officials said the senator from Vermont planned to leave Washington and return home, where he and his wife, Jane, would talk to supporters and determine the future of his presidential run. The campaign also suspended its Facebook ads and, uncharacteristically, made no request for donations in an email to backers updating them on the situation. Biden deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield said that aides to the two candidates have been in touch regularly to discuss the public health crisis that has gripped the country, disclosing talks that could form the basis of a broader agreement on policies and might make Sanders more comfortable leaving the race. .... ElCid
What is Bernie up to these days? Seems he is using the current situation as a platform to promote his agenda. As below article says, once he is out of the race (and he will be), the media and public will no longer pay attention to him. Still seems to me that he could better help the Dems win in Nov., if he left the race even though he would lose his pulpit. https://www.npr.org/2020/03/29/822749003/facing-likely-defeat-bernie-sanders-campaign-found-a-new-cause

Biden has stated he will select a women for V.P. so now the only question is will it be a progressive or moderate and if white or person of color. Sanders has some pull with regards to how passionate an endorsement he will give. Some of the pundits have said that Amy Klobuchar would be the best choice since she would help with Minnesota, her home state. E.g. Harris is from CA and Dems have CA in a lock, and Biden does well with African-Americans so he doesn't need a boost there (and Biden has Obama in his corner and we all know Obama can rally that segment of voters). But Klobuchar is a moderate and Sanders and his most media-savvy supporter A.O.C. (who has mocked Biden), are likely advising Biden's team; you wouldn't get passionate support from the progressive wing of the party with that ticket!

Before anyone gets bent out of shape I know this was only a poll but the one that was posted only a sort while ago showed that Elizabeth Warren would give Biden more of a bump than any of the others. IMO Amy Klobuchar is like giving them what they already have. Tim Kaine was not a brilliant choice for Hillary Clinton. But hey, right now Biden doesn't have a chance against the war time President. 1
