classicalmusicplayer2
When I was a kid I remember watching a film on TMC, and I've been thinking about it lately but I can't remeber the title or actors. The movie consisted of a middle aged Japanese man (I'm pretty sure in yellowface), living it Japan that falls in love with a middle aged women from America or maybe England. I think it doesn't work out for them in the end. The man is very proper. I remember there is a scene where they are having tea in his "traditional Japanese house". There is also a scene where he learns that she is coming over and he begins cleaning up because the "house is a mess" and flips over a drawing hanging to the other side and says how much better the hose is but it basically looks the same. The house also had a backyard and some scenes too place there. I believe it was in color. I know this is very vague but any help would be appreciated! LawrenceA
Sounds like A Majority of One (1961) with Alec Guinness as a Japanese man who falls in love with American Rosalind Russell.
