ClassicMovieRankings
Our latest page....and one of TCM's more popular actresses....Ms Kay Francis. A statistical look at 49 of her movies. Having only seen one Francis movie....I have no idea if my rankings are decent or way off base....any feedback would be greatly appreciated. http://www.ultimatemovierankings.com/kay-francis-movies/

Hey, that first 15 minutes where Powell gets the folks to smoke a joint makes this film a must-see.
Hibi
Agree about Jewel Robbery. I would delete 24 Hours and Comet Over Broadway (a B movie!) Girls About Town has yet to be shown on TCM and I've never seen it. (Paramount)
Mr. Gorman
I rather like JEWEL ROBBERY, too. 70 minutes of fun + funny cigarettes. How can a viewer go wrong? Gotta be in the Top 10.
film lover 293
ClassicMovieRankings--One thing: "The Feminine Touch" (1941) is better than # 40, IMHO. Francis and Van Heflin nearly steal the movie from Rosalind Russell and Don Ameche; at a Guess, it would be somewhere between #s 23--33, as Francis was not first billed. Sepiatone
Ten best from Kay Francis is no particular order 1. CONFESSION 2. 24 HOURS 3. GIRLS ABOUT TOWN 4. ONE WAY PASSAGE 5. IN NAME ONLY 6. Her "best" ones are, as you know, a matter of individual opinion Sepiatone
ClassicMovieRankings
Thanks for the feedback. Seems like Confession, Jewel Robbery and Trouble in Paradise are ones I should check out.
TopBilled
My top 10 list: 1. GIVE ME YOUR HEART...the scene where she looks at the picture of the son she gave up, it gets me every time. Her most tortured character. 2. I FOUND STELLA PARISH..love the mother-daughter stuff with her and Sybil Jason. 3. TROUBLE IN PARADISE..it's really Miriam Hopkins' picture, but Kay more than holds her own. 4. ONE WAY PASSAGE..she and Bill Powell were in 7 pictures together and this is arguably the best one. The remake pales. 5. THE HOUSE ON 56TH STREET..I wish she had made more films with Gene Raymond. So great. 6. THE GOOSE AND THE GANDER..a rom-com with George Brent. The supporting cast is outstanding. 7. IN NAME ONLY..she's perfectly bitchy as Cary Grant's estranged wife. 8. PLAY GIRL..she and Margaret Hamilton are a riot in this movie about an over-the-hill gold digger who gets a last chance at love. 9. ALLOTMENT WIVES..she produced and starred in this Monogram film at the end of her screen career. She's cast against type as a sinister crook, and she gives a delicious performance. 10. MY BILL...yes, it's a B film, but even in a 'lesser' production, she could still play grand melodrama. The scenes with her and Dickie Moore are nicely played.
drednm
Just watched The Man Who Lost Himself (1941) which starred Kay Francis with Brian Aherne. Not among the best of her films but glad I finally found it.... probably her rarest existing title.
