LawrenceA told me they were not, although William is the son of Hedda Hopper. So: William Hopper Dennis Hopper A further irony of this: William Hopper and Dennis Hopper were both in the movie Rebel Without a Cause.
Mr. Gorman
Since we know Dennis used to enjoy smoking wacky weed do you think we should nickname him 'Grass' Hopper?

MilesArcher
You know, we had a thread called "Same Name, No Relation" that ran for quite a while and was revived once or twice. It was more of a game where a poster would leave two or more first names of celebrities with the same last name. Someone would then post the answer and they would leave new first names for the next poster. The only rules were that the celebrities had to be unrelated (no Robert and Elizabeth Montgomery), and the last names had to be spelled exactly the same (no Claude Rains and Ella Raines). If they are spelled differently, then it's not the same name. You did not have to wait for confirmation of the answer. If you were wrong, the previous poster would let you know. I'm surprised that Gipper didn't mention it, since he participated in the old thread. I'll bump it up from page three so you can see if you like that format more. GregoryPeckfan
Thank you, Paulll, for starting this thread. It specifically refers to the "last" name and not the entire name. It is true that I mentioned Gene Simmons and Jean Simmons that sound exactly the same both first and last name, but this thread is more precise. And no, there is no "correct" answer. I simply mentioned to Marsha that I had already talked about the Hopper name because I am a big fan of Raymond Burr and Perry Mason and I really did not know that Dennis was not William's son until Lawrence told me. I could talk about Raymond Burr and his co-stars all day.

GregoryPeckfan
Because this thread is being taken over by the Hoppers, maybe Paulll should rename the title of the thread to "Not Related To Any Hopper"

I didn't realize there was a similar thread. That sounds like an interesting game, this one doesn't have as many specific rules per se. People can just list names, etc, nothing too fancy. Thank you for letting us know about that forum too.
