jakeem
Stephen Wolf @PoliticsWolf Whoa, this is a major win for Native American voting rights in North Dakota. The GOP passed a voter ID law that blatantly excluded most tribal-issued IDs, but the backlash against it helped activists raise money to provide free IDs in 2018 & Native turnout hit historic highs North Dakota Republicans had passed a voter ID law that required IDs to have a residential address. But because U.S. postal service is nearly nonexistent for a large numbers of residents of Native reservations, the law made it harder for Native voters. This settlement ends that The GOP's motives were undoubtedly to disenfranchise Native voters, but there's no evidence to suggest Heitkamp lost because of it. There was a huge backlash to the ID law that led to historic turnout in 2018 1:59 PM · Feb 13, 2020·Twitter Web Client
ElCid
3 hours ago, Arturo said: So Haley and the GOP cannot deal with a Democratic Socialist, but are supporting a National Socialist, or Nazi, Donald Trump. Our own fuerher is doing here what Hitler did to Germany, dismantle our democratic institutions, and scapegoat “the other”, to cheers from the base, and complicity from the “good people” who won’t speak up as the atrocities mount. Just to be pedantic, Trump is not anything like a "national socialist." Of course neither was Hitler in reality. Trump subscribes to one of the following: plutocracy; kleptocracy; monarchy; oligarchy or totalitarianism . Or a combination of all. I would say he is more of an plutocrat in believing that he and the wealthy should rule America as they see fit, but a monarchist is believing that president is synonymous with emperor. He has shown his fascination with totalitarian and near-totalitarian leaders for a long time. But basically he is a narcissist who believes that he alone knows what is right and any disagreement, not matter how small, must be punished.

Trump @realDonaldTrump When I terminated John Kelly, which I couldn’t do fast enough, he knew full well that he was way over his head. Being Chief of Staff just wasn’t for him. He came in with a bang, went out with a whimper, but like so many X’s, he misses the action & just can’t keep his mouth shut, which he actually has a military and legal obligation to do. His incredible wife, Karen, who I have a lot of respect for, once pulled me aside & said strongly that “John respects you greatly. When we are no longer here, he will only speak well of you.” Wrong! 11:04 AM · Feb 13, 2020·Twitter for iPhone "General Kelly is doing a fantastic job!" - Donald J. Vautrin
I'm sure Kelly realized very early on that Trump was a clueless idiot and serial liar. He probably stayed on hoping to rein in Donny's worst instincts, but as we now know that's a fools' errand.

Yes he criticized Trump's tweeting but lots of close allies have done that and Trump is not bothered by it. What Barr did accomplish is a story where he has acted independently from Trump and that his 'interference' in the Roger Stone case had nothing to do with the President.
