Trump’s revenge and pardon tour continues today with John Rood, the top policy guy at the Pentagon resigning because he was asked to by the impeached president*. Rood had warned against withholding aid to Ukraine. Now he is out of a job. But Trump marches on, unaccountable.

Well, Mayor Pete did intentionally garble his answer fearing it might be wrong.  His nervous laugh afterward was a giveaway.

I didn't watch it so I don't know about that. I still think he got a good shot in at Amy, if a rather trivial one.

Not knowing the president of Mexico does not make you dumb.  Inexperience does make you inexperienced.

Would rather have someone who doesn't know the name of Mexican president now, but who can accomplish what needs to be accomplished than to have someone who is inexperienced and will falter beginning on day one.

Perhaps uninformed is a better word. But being uninformed as a candidate for president is kind of dumb.

And knowing who is the president of Mexico should be of some importance as it is a country we have quite a

lot of dealings with. It's not as if she didn't know who was the Health Minister of Togo. She keeps implying that

Buttigieg will be like Trump, who has no experience. Buttigieg has some experience and the main reason Trump does

the things he does is not so much lack of experience as because he is a serial liar, conman, and ignoramus. So to me

the inexperience criticism makes little sense.

Interesting.  But I still say national polls are worthless.  They need to do polls by individual states.

It will keep climbing regardless who will be the next president. Since the World Bank won't cut their own throats doubt they will call the debt in.

I doubt the U.S. has any debt to the World Bank.

Trump is expected to name Ric Grenell, currently his ambassador to Germany, as the next acting Director of National Intelligence. Joseph Maguire, who currently holds the job, legally can’t do it after early March. Grenell is not expected to be nominated to the position though.

Grenell has made clear to others he's wanted to leave his post for a while to return to another admin job or the private sector. This allows Trump to fill the job for the time being with a loyalist who shares his worldview. First reported by NYT.

Ric Grenell was spokesman for John Bolton, Zalmay Khalilzad, and Jack Danforth at the UN. Mitt Romney wanted him to be a national security spokesperson for his campaign but an anti-gay evangelical and social conservative uprising blocked him. But he has not served as an analyst

This position was formed post-9/11 to coordinate and lead among intel agencies and prevent another catastrophic attack. It is not a political position. It is not an activist position. This would be an egregious break with precedent.

Reagan's daughter slams Trump: We risk 'forgetting what the presidency is supposed to be'

"Patti Davis, a daughter of the late President Reagan, bashed President Trump in a new column, writing that "he may very well be destroying more than we can ever rebuild."

Davis contrasts the leadership of her father's administration to Trump's, writing for the Daily Beast that, "We run the risk, it seems to me, of forgetting what the presidency is supposed to be."

"We will never save this democracy until we remember what it feels like to have as our president someone who puts democracy above personal, selfish interests," she adds.

She also argues that Trump's colleagues work in "fear" of the president, writing, "Almost on a daily basis now, we hear about how frightened people are of Donald Trump—

"They fear his wrath and his insatiable appetite for revenge," she said. .............

Reagan told her that.......... anything can be done when people are frightened. .......

Since the Barr-Trump tweet fracas, the president's Twitter feed has accused John Kerry, Michael Bloomberg, Chris Murphy, and various FBI/DOJ officials of federal crimes, in some cases directly calling for investigations into them.

Fox News host essentially calls for concentration camps for the homeless.

"You move them out to a government-owned area. You set up sanitation, you get counselors in there, you separate the mentally ill --"

"So you would arrest them?"

"No, you'd move them."

In like a month Trump is going to start rounding up the homeless and putting them in a "govt owned area" and people will be all "why is he doing this" and the reason he's doing it is bc the fmr editor of Mens Health magazine got a gig on Fox News and told him to do it

its egregious that other news outlets don't cover Fox News like they're presidential advisers bc that's exactly what they are
