The US Inspector General whose job is to investigate and uncover the truth says the President is not telling the truth about the severe shortages hospitals face........

& Test rationing prevents cause of death of many pneumonia/heart attack victims from being attributed to #COVID19.

Trump says almost 1.8 million tests have now been done for coronavirus in the U.S. He says he thinks other countries had more cases but just didn't do the tests. "One of the reasons we have more cases is that we've done more testing," he says.

Trump: It'll be a rough week, or "little more than a week," but "there's tremendous light at the end of the tunnel," tremendous things happening with vaccines and therapeutics.

Trump claims: "One of the reasons that we have more cases is we've done more testing. ... If they did the kind of testing proportionally that we're doing, they'd have many more cases than us."

Fact check: The U.S. has tested a lower proportion of its population than others.

Trump: "Tremendous stories" are coming out of this dark moment. He concludes by saying "stay inside and let's win this and let's get our country open as soon as we can." He says he thinks it'll be sooner than people think and things are going really well.

Major Producer of Hydroxychloroquine Once Paid Michael Cohen Hefty Sum for Access to Trump

"....... It just so happens that one of the largest manufacturers of the drug, Novartis, previously paid Trump’s now-incarcerated former personal attorney Michael Cohen more than $1 million for healthcare policy insight following Trump’s election in 2016........

Trump pushes back on HHS IG by not so subtlely threatening to fire the person. He’s not even interested in what’s in the report. Just trying to undermine anyone who criticizes him

Trump demands a reporter soften her language in a question about the functioning of a federal program. He says she's incapable of doing so. (Really not her job to do so.) Trump: "I wish we had a fair media...we really don't."

Trump says he's heard very good things about Capt. Brett Crozier, and "I may look into it only from the standpoint" that something should be "resolved." He says he might mediate re Crozier/Modly: "You have two good people, and they're arguing...I'm good at settling arguments."

Trump on Crozier's letter: "It shows weakness. And there's nothing weak about us now. Not anymore." He says, "We don't want to have letter-writing campaigns where the fake news finds a letter, gets a leak. We don't want that."

Reporter: When will we get back to normal?

Dr. Fauci: That might not ever happen, but therapies and vaccine will make sure we're not where we are now.

Donald Trump: I'm dealing with the companies and we'll get "more than back to normal and even be better."

Here's the link to the inspector general's report Trump questioned. It says it's not a review of the HHS response, but to help HHS help hospitals. It's based on brief phone interviews w/ hospital administrators from 323 hospitals in 46 States, DC & PR. https://oig.hhs.gov/oei/reports/oei-06-20-00300.pdf
