Trump's Biggest Whoppers

Janet Yellen has been chosen to succeed Steven Mnuchin. As it turns out, both of them have degrees from Yale.

The difference is one of them -- the one who's a PhD economist, the only woman in her PhD class no less -- actually has the expertise and experience to handle a crisis.

If Warren leaves the Senate, her seat would be open.  The governor of MA is a Republican, who supposedly said he would appoint a Dem to the job.  Yeah, right.  If he did, it would be a conservative Dem.

Also, I don't see Warren as a good or even mediocre pick for Sec. of Treasury.

Warren would probably agree with you there.  I got confused by JJ's post.  I also thought he was suggesting Warren as a Treasury secretary choice by progressives but now I think he was just mentioning her as being overlooked for any of the positions.

She is not qualified for that job.  Neither is Joe Biden.

Maybe Warren could be in charge of Native American Affairs or whatever you call it?  Just a bad joke!

The Dow breaks 30,000 on the news of Janet Yellin's appointment.  Trump spontaneously comes into the WH Press briefing room to take credit for the market.  After approximately 30 seconds he then turns tail and leaves.

Brave, brave Sir Donald.

LOL.  Par for the course. FORE!!!!!

Biden is not qualified to be President?  Or you mean treasury Sec'y? How could he be one?

I think Warren will be more effective in her current job. From what I've read, her seat seems safe for as long as she wants it. If/when the Dems take back the Senate she'll get a prominent committee chairperson job.

No two ways about it she's a senator from Massachusetts, isn't she?

I find that to be a very funny joke.       I do admit that using Warren as a possible Treasury sec choice for Biden was somewhat lame since Biden never considered her  (mainly because of losing that Senate seat).

But my overall point is clear:   Now that Biden is President,  he can end the vague statements he had to make while running,  to ensure the left wing of the party got out and voted for him,   and run his administration as the moderate he has always been.

As for the progressives:  I believe there are only 2 Dem Senators that fit that description (and none as self defined democratic socialist).   That's good for Biden since he couldn't depend on them to vote to confirm appointments they felt were too moderate.     The Squad House members will be put into their place by Pelosi.
