lavenderblue19
OK, you got me. Try this one. This Oscar nominated actress sadly had a short career and tragic short life. She was married to a famous director. We will get to see this lovely actress in her most famous role in an upcoming film this week on TCM. Do you know her? lavenderblue19
Yes, she was Susan Peters. Sad life. Paralized from the waist down, when she accidently shot herself on a duck hunting trip with her director husband Richard Quine. She passed away at age 31. She was nominated for her role as Kitty, in *Random Harvest* . Richard Quine, directed Kim Novak in 4 of her films. Kid, now back to you.

Kid Dabb
Do you know me? I began my career as a teenager in the silent movies of the early 1920s. I made a successful transition to talkies, but almost saw my career destroyed due to public scandal. My parents sued me for support and I was later branded an adulterous wife by my ex-husband in a custody battle over our daughter. Overcoming these setbacks, I went on to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a film which was released the same year as another in which I played, probably, the most famous role for which I am remembered today. One director wrote of me in 1990: "...that when two or three who love the cinema are gathered together, the name of .... always comes up, and everybody agrees that she was an actress of special attraction, whose qualities of depth and reality always seemed to illuminate the parts she played." allaboutlana
{font:Times New Roman}"Born in Dubuque, Ohio in 1910, I had a love for acting. After taking drama and speech, my first film was in 1932. Because I had the air of sophisticated elegance, I was often cast in roles of well-to-do society wives, daughters, and fiancées. Though I was engaged already in two of my pictures, I still lost my man to Barbara Stanwyck amd Lana Turner. I also starred in a very prominent Bette Davis film. Do you know me?"{font}
lavenderblue19
You are Margaret Lindsay ? Stanwyck took her fiance away in *Baby Face* , Lana in *Cass Timberlane* and one of the films she did with Bette was *Jezebel* .

lavenderblue19
She was in so many wonderful films, but got the short end of the stick so many times!!! LOL next: This guy was typecast as the heavy most times. To look at him you'd probably be surprised to know that he was very well educated, an outstanding athlete, played many musical instruments, was a published playwright and author. Because of his many roles as the bad guy, kids even had an expression they used that had his name in it. He was a regular player in a popular TV comedy in the 1960's. who was this multi talented character actor?
gummball
Not Edward G Robinson? I know Robinson was a well educated man who was an avid art collector, but he did not do a TV series.
lavenderblue19
No, it's not EGR. This actor was most times a supporting player. As I wrote he was in a popular TV comedy series in the '60's
