MilesArcher
With all those military roles, could it be John Wayne? All three of his wives were hispanic.
patsydahling
I know, Wayne would have been my first guess if I hadn't conjured up the clues. More eclectic taste in wives, or couldn't settle on one type of woman. As I said he was top of the heap in a field other than acting, but had an Oscar.. (clue) PS: And just because he was in the military in all those movies or ex-military, doesn't mean they are all war stories. He was a ground pounder in at least one. Officer at times. patsydahling
That's the man! Very nice. Did 'top of the heap' help? 1945 - Anchors Aweigh 1953 - From Here to Eternity (Best Supporting Actor Oscar) 1959 - Never So Few 1962 - Sergeants 3 1962 - The Manchurian Candidate 1965 - Von Ryan's Express 1966 - Assault on a Queen (Ex-Navy) 1966 - Cast a Giant Shadow (Ex-Army) Spouses - When they include Ava Gardener and Mia Fiarrow (along with Marx and Barbato), I think you have crossed over into eclectic taste. Thank you for playing, the mike is yours.....

Emgee66
Thank you; in fact the mention of Ernest Borgnine put me on the right track. Yes, he indeed played the field quite widely, but then i think he had no problems attracting the ladies. Here goes: I was born into a theatrical family and started in the movies from a young age.
