The Lady Eve
I agree, good choice. I was a thriving commercial artist when I went to work in the art department of a film studio?soon I became an actor?I had a lackluster movie career, however?and I maybe better remembered for a sizzling romance with one of my co-stars (a legend of the silver screen and notorious seductress) and my marriage shortly after that affair ended to one of the most celebrated beauties of the era?a lifelong medical condition may have hampered my career; it did shorten my life. My fourth and final marriage was to a very fine awarding-winning actress whose life was shortened by a debilitating disease.

The Lady Eve
Well?I worked with Hitchcock?my sizzling affair was with a woman who?s career spanned decades and included a concert career?the beautiful one was married more than just about anyone and was at the center of more than one scandal herself?we had two sons?I suffered from epilepsy throughout my life? The Lady Eve
Thanks, lavender?here?s more?I was in two Hitchcock films back-to-back, but they aren?t among his most celebrated?for the seductress, think blonde and Teutonic?for the gorgeous younger wife, violet eyes? DownGoesFrazier
I was born in NYC. As a boy, I performed magic tricks I learned from a famous neighbor. I was in amateur dramatics from my late teens and worked as a bank clerk while seeking stage roles. I began playing small roles on Broadway and in the late '30s joined a well-known group of players, and also began appearing in films. For a while I played both leads and supporting roles, but my eventual stocky build and heavy jowls marked me for character roles. I was nominated for 2 Oscars, winning one, and also starred in 3 TV series.

Poinciana
I was born in 1908 in NYC. I was fortunate to have made my movie debut in a bit part as a reporter in an all-time classic movie which came out in the early 40's. But after that movie roles were few and far between so I hightailed it back to New York and appeared on stage in two Shakespeare productions. Later on I co-starred with some of the biggest names in film history. Most of my most notable characterizations were in boffo movies made in the 50's and 60's. Who am I? The Lady Eve
(In answer to your question, I posted something on Arthur O?Connell on a trivia thread not long ago so was familiar with his beginnings?I always enjoyed him in films and on TV) I was born in Missouri with a name very different from the one I later used as an actress. My family moved to the west coast and I began modeling to pay for college. One of my modeling assignments attracted the attention of a major studio and I was signed on. I was given a stage name similar to that of a silent screen vamp. I made movies from the late-30s till late-40s. I debuted in a very big film with some top stars, but, as the story goes, the studio disapproved of my sudden marriage and most of the remaining films I made were B movies, one of which became controversial. I had a recurring role in a film franchise but was not too thrilled about it. At one point I was certified as having ?the longest hair in Hollywood.? My marriage and film career ended at just about the same time and I retired from acting. I died not so very long ago? Do you know me?
